Collaborate Easily by Sharing Your Personalized ‘Gems’ with Others

Share Your Custom AI Assistants with Others

Google has introduced a new feature that allows users to share their custom AI assistants, known as ‘Gems’, with others. This feature enables users to collaborate more effectively by sharing personalized tools they’ve created for specific tasks.

  • To share a Gem, users can open the ‘Gem Manager’ on the Gemini AI website and click on “Share” next to the desired Gem.
  • Sharing settings are similar to Google Drive, allowing users to control who can view or edit their Gems.
  • Gems can be used for various purposes, such as creating vacation guides, story-writing partners, or personalized meal planners.

How to Create and Share a Gem

Creating and sharing a Gem is straightforward:

  1. Visit gemini.google.com
  2. Click on ‘Explore Gems’ on the left sidebar.
  3. Select ‘New Gem’.
  4. Enter a name and instructions for your Gem.
  5. Click ‘Save’.

Users can also upload files to personalize their Gems further by clicking the ‘Add Files’ tab under ‘Knowledge’ and choosing files from their device or Google Drive.

Expanding Access to All Users

Initially, the Gems feature was exclusive to Gemini Advanced subscribers. However, access has since been expanded to Gemini Business and Enterprise users in over 150 countries. As of March, all users now have access to Gems, along with support for uploading files for further personalization.

Summary: Google’s new feature allows users to share their custom AI assistants, or ‘Gems’, with others, enhancing collaboration and personalization. With easy creation and sharing options, users can now tailor AI assistants to meet specific needs and share them seamlessly.
