Just hours before U.S. President Donald Trump’s arrival in the UK for his official state visit, protest group Led by Donkeys projected provocative visuals onto Windsor Castle, including images of Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The stunt, which lasted several minutes, has led to the arrest of four individuals on charges related to malicious communications.
Activist Projection Targets Trump-Epstein Ties
The activist group Led by Donkeys, known for its viral political stunts, broadcasted a video montage for several minutes on one of Windsor Castle’s towers on Tuesday evening. The projection included:
- Trump’s mugshot
- Photos of Jeffrey Epstein
- Old footage of Trump and Epstein together
- Newspaper headlines about their association
The display took place shortly before President Trump was scheduled to arrive in the UK, where he will stay at Windsor Castle as a guest of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
Police Respond Swiftly, Arrest 4 Protesters
According to Chief Superintendent Felicity Parker of Thames Valley Police, four individuals were arrested on suspicion of malicious communications related to the projection.
“We take any unauthorised activity around Windsor Castle extremely seriously,” she said. “Officers responded swiftly to stop the projection and secure the area.”
Ongoing Controversy Over Epstein Connection
President Trump has faced years of scrutiny over his past relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, who died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges. While Trump has publicly distanced himself from Epstein, resurfacing images and footage continue to attract public and media attention.
The controversy has also affected UK politics: Prime Minister Keir Starmer recently dismissed the UK’s ambassador to Washington following revelations about the envoy’s past links to Epstein.
Protests Greet Trump’s Visit
As Air Force One approached, dozens of anti-Trump demonstrators gathered near Windsor. Thousands more are expected to protest in London, although President Trump will reportedly avoid central London and most public appearances during the visit.
The President and First Lady Melania Trump will be hosted at Windsor Castle on Wednesday. On Thursday, Trump will meet Prime Minister Starmer at the PM’s country residence for political and economic discussions, before returning to the United States.
