VOTE CHORI protest - Akhilesh Yadav turns super hero : Jumps Police Barricade after threatening policemen to touch him.

Opposition MPs sit on Delhi streets in protest against Bihar Special Intensive Revision (SIR). Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav jumped over a police barricade as Delhi Police stopped INDIA bloc leaders marching from the Parliament to the Election Commission of India.

Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, and other Opposition MPs were detained during a protest march to the Election Commission’s office in Delhi against the Bihar SIR.

Rahul Gandhi was among multiple leaders and MPs detained amid the Opposition’s protest against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls being undertaken in Bihar and planned in other states.

Videos on social media showed Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav jumping the barricades as other opposition leaders continued their march from the Parliament House to Nirvachan Sadan.

nother video showed Rahul Gandhi talking to reporters as he was detained.

“The reality is that they cannot talk. The truth is in front of the country. This fight is not political. This fight is to save the Constitution. This fight is for One Man, One Vote. We want a clean, pure voters’ list,” Gandhi said.

This came after senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Sunday addressed a letter to the Election Commission of India (ECI), underscoring that Opposition MPs intended to collectively hand over a memorandum, not merely send a small delegation.

In the letter dated August 10, Ramesh, writing on behalf of political parties in Opposition in Parliament, informed the Chief Election Commissioner that all Opposition MPs would stage a peaceful march from the Parliament House to Nirvachan Sadan on August 11 after 11.30 am.

The MPs sought a meeting with the Commission to raise concerns, including but not limited to the Bihar SIR.

“I am writing to inform the Commission that all Opposition MPs are staging a peaceful march from Parliament House to Nirvachan Sadan on August 11, 2025, after 1130am,” Jairam Ramesh’s letter read.

“Thereafter, the MPs wish to collectively meet with the Commission on a host of issues, including but not limited to Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls being undertaken in Bihar and proposed to be undertaken in other states as well,” he mentioned.

“We look forward to meeting with the Commission which will be in keeping with the highest tradition of our parliamentary democracy,” he added.
