Aneet Padda’s Personal Connection to the Story

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Aneet revealed a touching personal story that made Saiyaara even more meaningful for her.

“My dadu has Alzheimer’s disease, which is why this film hit so close to home,” Aneet shared.

Despite his condition, her grandfather recognized her in the film — something she never expected.

“The Mind Forgets, But the Heart Remembers”

Aneet reflected on the film’s powerful message:

“Dimaag bhool jaata hai, par dil kabhi nahi bhoolta.”
(“The mind forgets, but the heart never does.”)

She added:

“He doesn’t remember my name, but he calls me Heeraput or Makkhan. When my parents showed him the video, he smiled and said, ‘HeeraputMakkhan di movie.’ That was very special.”
