From Best Sound Design to Background Score, ‘Animal’ Dominates 2023’s National Awards in Audio Excellence
🎬 National Film Awards 2025 Honours the Best of 2023 Cinema
The 71st National Film Awards were officially announced on Friday by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in New Delhi, recognizing excellence in Indian cinema for films certified between January 1 and December 31, 2023.
Among the standout winners was Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s action-drama Animal, which bagged multiple technical awards for its exceptional audio production and design.
🏆 ‘Animal’ Wins for Sound & Music
The team of Animal walked away with major accolades in two key categories:
- Best Background Music: Harshavardhan Rameshwar was honoured for his intense and emotional background score that elevated the film’s impact.
- Best Sound Design: Awarded to Sachin Sudhakaran and Hariharan Muralidharan for their immersive soundscapes that enhanced the viewing experience.
🎧 Special Mention for ‘Spirit’ in Re-Recording
Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film Spirit also received a Special Mention in the Re-Recording Mixer category for its Hindi version. The work was carried out by M R Rajakrishnan, who was praised for his finesse in sound mixing.
