- Lucy often became upset when her father talked about his gun ownership, the court heard.
- During the dispute, Lucy reportedly asked her father how he would feel if she were sexually assaulted, to which he replied that, because he had other daughters, it “would not upset him that much.”
Later that day, Lucy was in the kitchen when her father took her by the hand and led her to his bedroom. About 15 seconds later, a gunshot was heard. Mr Littler ran to the room and found Lucy lying on the floor with a fatal gunshot wound to her chest.

In a written statement attributed to him in court documents:
- Kris Harrison said he had shown Lucy a Glock 9mm handgun he owned, explaining he bought it for “a sense of security.”
- He claimed he did not understand how the gun discharged and could not remember if his finger was on the trigger.
- The court also heard that Mr Harrison had previously struggled with alcohol addiction and consumed alcohol earlier on the day of the shooting.
