Bollywood actor breaks silence as her brother, Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitly, remains in UAE detention for over a year
Bollywood actor Celina Jaitly shared an emotional post about her brother, Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitly, who has been detained in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for more than a year.
Posting her brother’s photo in uniform, Celina wrote:
“My Dumpy, I hope you’re okay. I haven’t slept a single night without crying for you. I’m standing with you like a rock.”
Her message quickly went viral, drawing public attention to her brother’s situation.
Brother Detained for Over a Year
Celina said her brother, a retired Indian Army officer and fourth-generation soldier, was detained in the UAE about 14 months ago. She alleged he has been denied proper legal and medical help.
Celina also claimed that her brother was abducted and is being held without clear charges. “I have left no stone unturned to bring him back,” she said.
High Court Steps In
Recently, the Delhi High Court asked the Indian government to submit a status report within four weeks.
The court also appointed a nodal officer to update the family and ensure her brother receives legal and medical assistance.
