“Jagan Mohan Reddy Says Chandrababu Naidu Is in Contact With Rahul Gandhi Amid Vote Theft Allegations”
YSRCP chief and former Andhra Pradesh CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of ignoring alleged voting irregularities in Andhra Pradesh, and claimed that Chandrababu Naidu is in direct contact with Rahul Gandhi.
He said:
“Why doesn’t Rahul Gandhi speak about Andhra Pradesh? He remains silent because he is in hotline contact with Chandrababu Naidu, via Telangana CM Revanth Reddy.”
Jagan highlighted that there was a 12.5% discrepancy between votes cast and votes counted in Andhra Pradesh, affecting around 4.8 million votes— the highest anomaly in the country—and slammed Rahul Gandhi for not addressing it.
He further criticized Congress spokesperson Manickam Tagore for staying silent on irregularities like “belt shops, permit rooms and mining scams” under Naidu’s watch.
Rahul Gandhi Had Shared a Fictional Video
On the same day, Rahul Gandhi shared a fictional video on X, in which the election process was criticized. The video allegedly showed two BJP members colluding with Election Commission officials to cast fake votes. It also depicted that a 50-year-old voter named “Gareeb Das” and his wife were denied their right to vote because someone else had already voted in their place. The video ended with a scene where the two individuals conspire with a booth-level officer and refer to the Election Commission as the “Election Theft Commission.”
In his statement accompanying the video, Rahul Gandhi said that stealing someone’s vote is equivalent to stealing their rights and identity.
Serious Questions Over Voting Irregularities
On this occasion, Jagan Mohan Reddy also stated that in Andhra Pradesh, there was a 12.5% difference between the votes announced and the votes counted, which is alarming. He added that in such cases, it is the responsibility of leaders to speak up for the protection of people’s rights. Reddy called Rahul Gandhi’s silence on the matter not only suspicious but also a serious disregard for the democratic process.
