Influencer Warns Indians About New COD Parcel Scam Using Trusted Courier Services

Digital creator Tvisha Tuli exposes a new cash-on-delivery scam where people unknowingly pay for fake products they never ordered.

COD Scam Alert: Influencer Raises Red Flag

In a viral post that has caught nationwide attention, digital creator Tvisha Tuli has warned Indian consumers about a fast-spreading cash-on-delivery (COD) parcel scam. The scam involves the delivery of fake products through trusted courier services like Delhivery, Blue Dart, Ecom Express, and Shadowfax, leaving unsuspecting people out of pocket.

How The Scam Works

Tvisha Tuli shared her experience via Instagram, explaining the trick:

  • A parcel for face masks arrived at her home addressed to a family member who had not ordered it. They returned it.
  • Days later, a similar parcel arrived under a different name from the household.
  • Assuming it was genuine, someone in the house paid Rs 700.
  • Inside the box? A random item with Chinese text, and a QR code that didn’t even scan.

“The scam is well-targeted. Scammers seem to know which houses frequently use COD and who lives there. They rotate names and courier partners,” said Tuli.

Scammers Are Misusing Trusted Couriers

It’s important to note that courier companies like Blue Dart or Delhivery are not involved in these scams. Fraudsters are simply misusing their platforms to build trust and collect money for fake deliveries.

Who Is At Risk?

According to Tuli, this scam doesn’t only target elderly or unaware individuals.

“Even we, the younger generation, assume a package from Blue Dart or Ecom Express is legit. That’s how real it feels,” she warned.

How To Protect Yourself: Tips To Stay Safe

Tuli shared a few essential safety measures to avoid falling victim:

  1. Verify Orders: Always confirm if someone in your household placed the order before paying.
  2. Educate Family: Tell your parents and grandparents to never accept unknown COD parcels.
  3. Report It: Inform the courier company immediately if something feels suspicious.
  4. Do Not Pay for Unverified Deliveries: If unsure, ask the delivery agent to open the package or simply refuse delivery.

Stay Alert, Stay Informed

With online shopping at an all-time high, scammers are finding smarter ways to exploit trust. While courier services do their part, it’s up to consumers to double-check every package. Don’t pay blindly—your vigilance is your strongest protection.
