First Known Case in Capital Involving Helium Inhalation; Victim Leaves Detailed Goodbye on Facebook
A 25-year-old Chartered Accountant, identified as Dheeraj Kansal, was found dead in an Airbnb accommodation near Bengali Market, Gol Market, Delhi, after allegedly taking his own life by inhaling helium gas. This marks the first reported case of suicide through helium inhalation in the Capital.

The incident came to light on Monday, July 28, when Kansal failed to check out of the guesthouse where he had been staying since July 20.

Dheeraj Kansal left behind a detailed note on his Facebook profile and also on paper, fearing the post might get deleted.
“No one should be blamed for this. It was entirely my choice. Everyone I met was kind to me. Please donтАЩt disturb anyone because of my decision,” the note read.
He also requested organ donation and wished for his remaining funds to be donated to orphanages or old age homes.
In his final message, he thanked everyone who had been part of his life but chose not to mention names to avoid causing them distress.
