The man who attacked Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during a public hearing has been identified as Rajesh Sakriya, a 41-year-old painter from Rajkot, Gujarat. Upon reaching out to his family, Delhi Police learned from his mother, Bhanu, that her son is a passionate animal lover and deeply troubled by the Supreme Court’s recent directive to round up stray dogs in Delhi-NCR and relocate them to shelters.
“My son loves dogs. He was angry after the Supreme Court’s order against stray dogs. And left for Delhi soon after,” Bhanu said, emphasizing that political motives were not involved
