A shocking murder case in Delhi unfolds as a painter kills and buries his wife in a graveyard, trying to hide her suspected affair.
Husband’s Plot Exposed by CCTV Footage
A 47-year-old painter from Uttar Pradesh, Shabab Ali, allegedly killed his 30-year-old wife, Fatima, in Mehrauli, Delhi. Suspecting her of having an extramarital affair, he planned to cover up the crime by making it look like she had eloped.
Police investigation revealed that Shabab forced Fatima to consume pesticides and intoxicating pills over five days, leading to her death on August 1.
Using a car and with help from two associates, Shahrukh Khan and Tanveer, Shabab buried Fatima’s body in a Mehrauli graveyard. He also disposed of her clothes in a nearby canal.
Faked Elopement Attempt Backfires
To mislead the police, Shabab sent a message to himself from Fatima’s phone, claiming she had eloped with another man. However, CCTV footage showed Fatima unconscious with Shabab and his aides, contradicting his story.
The case came to light after Fatima’s friend filed a missing person report on August 10, fearing she had been kidnapped.
Arrests and Ongoing Investigation
Following Shabab’s confession, the police exhumed Fatima’s body on August 15 in the presence of a magistrate. Shabab, Shahrukh, and Tanveer are in custody, while a fourth suspect remains at large. The vehicle used to transport the body has also been recovered.
Police Statement
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ankit Chauhan stated that the accused tried to conceal the crime by fabricating false evidence but were caught due to CCTV footage and quick police action.
