Elon Musk's Estranged Daughter, Vivian Wilson, Says She Has "No Inheritance" and Lives with Roommates

In a recent interview, Vivian Wilson, who legally changed her name and cut ties with her father in 2022, addresses her financial reality and complicated family life.

In a candid interview, Vivian Wilson, the estranged daughter of tech billionaire Elon Musk, has opened up about her finances, revealing she has no inheritance and lives with three roommates to save money. The 21-year-old, who legally changed her name and gender in 2022, explained that despite her father’s immense wealth, she doesn’t have access to vast sums of money.

A Different Reality

Vivian shared that many people assume she is wealthy, but the truth is quite different. “People think I have a lot of money. I don’t,” she stated, adding that she doesn’t have “hundreds of thousands of dollars available.”

Vivian, who hopes to return to college soon to study foreign languages, also expressed concern about the high cost of tuition. “College is expensive. I don’t have that inheritance,” she said.

Navigating Family Finances

Vivian also touched on the financial differences between her parents. While she acknowledges that her mother, Justine Wilson, is financially well-off, she noted that her father’s wealth is on an “unimaginable” scale. Despite this, she said she prefers to be financially independent and not overly reliant on her mother.

When asked about her personal financial goals, Vivian said she has no desire to be superrich. Her current focus is on being comfortable and secure. She noted, “I can afford food. I have friends, a shelter and some expendable income, which is nice and much more fortunate than most people my age in Los Angeles.”

Unpacking Family Dynamics

Since cutting ties with her father, Vivian has been outspoken about their strained relationship. She has publicly criticized Musk on social media, reportedly calling him a “pathetic man-child” for not accepting her gender identity.

Vivian also admitted to not knowing the exact number of her siblings. Musk has 14 children with four different women, and Vivian says the complicated family dynamic is a “fun fact” she often uses. She also stated that she had no idea about Musk’s three children with Shivon Zilis until she was asked about them in an interview.
