School Building Used as Cover for Illegal Drug Production
In a shocking revelation, the Telangana Police’s Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) busted a drug manufacturing racket operating from the premises of Medha School in Hyderabad.
- School director Malela Jaya Prakash Goud allegedly led the operation
- The second floor was converted into a clandestine drug lab
- Meanwhile, classes were being conducted on the lower floors
Chemistry Lab Converted Into Narcotics Unit
Authorities discovered a fully functional narcotics lab on the second floor:
- Lab equipped with 8 reactors, dryers, and chemical storage
- Used for producing Alprazolam, a banned substance
- Over 7 kg of Alprazolam, ₹21 lakh in cash, and raw chemicals were recovered
How the Operation Worked
- Goud learned the drug synthesis process from an associate, Guruvareddy
- The substance was used for toddy adulteration in Mahabubnagar
- The unit operated six days a week, with deliveries arranged on Sundays
- Goud and two aides have been arrested

Police have confirmed that:
- The illegal operation had been running for nearly six months
- More arrests and leads are expected as part of the wider narcotics crackdown
