Former Pakistan PM claims military trial is being led by ISI officer under direct orders from Army Chief Asim Munir; calls legal process a “sham”
Imran Khan Claims Military Trial Inside Adiala Jail
Jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan has made explosive allegations against Pakistan’s military and judiciary, stating that his ongoing trial inside Adiala Jail is being conducted not by a judge, but by an officer of the ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence).
“My so-called trial in Adiala Jail is not being conducted by a judge, but by an ISI Colonel, who takes direct instructions from Army Chief Gen Asim Munir. This is a military trial, not a civilian one,” Khan posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Key Allegations Made by Imran Khan
- ISI Colonel overseeing trial: Khan claims a Colonel from ISI is overseeing his case proceedings within the jail, not a judge.
- Military interference: He alleges all legal decisions are being dictated by Army Chief Gen Asim Munir.
- No fair trial: Over 300 “fabricated” cases have been filed against him and his party.
- Human rights violations: Khan says he has been denied basic jail facilities and has spoken to his children only once in 8 months.
- Oppression and political revenge: He claims this is part of a larger attempt to silence democratic dissent in Pakistan.
“Everything Is Under Asim Law, Not Constitution”
Khan condemned what he called a complete collapse of Pakistan’s legal framework, stating:
“Everything in Pakistan today is being done under the Asim Law, with the Constitution and legal framework in shreds.”
He said that both he and his wife would be free today if the courts operated on merit rather than pressure from the establishment.
Investigation Over Anti-State Posts on X
Khan’s statements come just after Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) launched a probe into “anti-state” content posted from his X account.
- A three-member FIA cybercrime team visited Adiala Jail on Tuesday.
- Investigators questioned Khan about:
- Who manages his X account
- Where the account is accessed from
- Whether he authorized others to use it
- Khan allegedly responded, “My X account, who uses it—I will not disclose.”
Khan Urges Supporters to Rally & Stay United
Khan called on PTI party leaders to organize a grand public rally in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, inviting people from across Pakistan to stand against the “darkness” engulfing the country.
He also urged his supporters to:
- Retweet his posts in a show of unity
- Reject any deals with the establishment
- Continue the fight for democracy and human rights
Family Speaks Out: “This Is Political Revenge”
His son Kasim Khan also voiced concerns, saying:
“My father is held in solitary confinement, denied access to doctors, and restricted from meeting lawyers and family. This is not justice — it is political revenge. Pakistan’s democracy is at stake.”
He called on human rights groups and the international community to support their fight for justice and democratic restoration in Pakistan.
