Big Names Eye Team India’s Title Sponsorship After Dream11 Exit Ahead of Asia Cup 2025

Two Companies Interested in Indian Cricket Team’s Title Sponsorship

With Dream11 backing out as the lead sponsor of the Indian cricket team following the recent ban on real-money gaming platforms by the Indian government, two major companies have reportedly expressed interest in becoming the next title sponsor.

Sources reveal that Toyota Motor Corporation and a Fintech start-up are currently in the running. However, the official tender process has not yet started, and the BCCI expects a higher deal value than the previous agreement with Dream11.

Dream11’s Exit Due to New Gaming Regulations

The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, passed by the Indian Parliament, prohibits real-money gaming platforms, which led to Dream11 withdrawing its sponsorship.

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia stated:

“If it’s not permissible, we’ll not do anything. The BCCI will follow every policy of the country framed by the central government.”

Asia Cup 2025 Sponsorship Update

  • The Asia Cup 2025 will begin on September 9 in the UAE, with matches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
  • The Indian team’s jerseys featuring Dream11 logos have already been printed, but they will not be used during the tournament.
  • If a new sponsor isn’t secured before the tournament, the Indian team will play without a lead sponsor.

Dream11’s Previous Deal with BCCI

Dream11 had signed a Rs 358 crore deal in 2023, which included Rs 3 crore per home match and Rs 1 crore per away match sponsorship fees.

India’s Asia Cup Squad Announcement

  • India announced a 15-member squad with five reserves for the Asia Cup.
  • Suryakumar Yadav will captain the team, with Shubman Gill as his deputy.

As the Asia Cup 2025 approaches, the BCCI is actively seeking a new title sponsor after Dream11’s exit due to new regulations. Toyota and a fintech company are frontrunners, but the final deal is yet to be sealed.
