After landing in Kolkata, Mr. Rahman was detained but later released. Mr. Majumdar also left the airport, but did not proceed with his connecting flight to Silchar on Friday.
His family, unaware of the incident, was waiting to receive him at Silchar Airport. Concerned after failing to reach him and watching the video online, they filed a missing persons complaint.
Key findings from the investigation:
- Mr. Majumdar did not board the Silchar flight the next day.
- He also did not depart from Kolkata airport on Saturday.
- He was finally located at Barpeta railway station, around 800 km from Kolkata and 400 km from Silchar.
