CA Adarsh Losalka’s body was discovered with his legs tied and head injury in a Kasba hotel. Police arrest a woman and a delivery agent after CCTV links them to the scene.
CA Found Dead in Hotel Room
A 33-year-old chartered accountant, identified as Adarsh Losalka, was found dead on Saturday in a hotel room in Kolkata’s Kasba area.
According to police, Losalka had checked into the hotel along with a man and a woman, all of whom were captured on CCTV entering the building.
When hotel staff found his body, they noted a deep wound on the back of his head. The post-mortem report, according to police, ruled the death as homicidal asphyxia — he had been strangled.
Two Arrested in Connection With the Death
Police have arrested Dhruvo Mitra, a delivery agent, and Kamal Saha, a 20-year-old woman, both of whom were seen with Losalka the night he disappeared.
Saha claimed she had met Losalka via a dating app, and that their meeting turned violent after a dispute about money.
According to sources, she and Mitra allegedly tied Losalka’s legs with a towel and fled after a scuffle.
Police say that Losalka’s mobile phone and wallet are missing, raising suspicions that the suspects may have taken them.
The Investigation So Far
- CCTV footage shows the two entering and then leaving Losalka’s room.
- Police are examining call records, phone location data, and booking details to piece together the timeline.
- Authorities also note that condoms were recovered at the crime scene, adding complexity to the investigation.
- Losalka’s father described his son as “jolly” and said he had no known enemies.
Why This Is Being Treated as a Murder Case
- The post-mortem explicitly indicates homicide by strangulation, not natural causes.
- The manner of his death — legs tied, head injury — suggests a planned attack.
- Investigators are also probing whether there was a financial motive: Losalka’s phone, wallet, and other possessions are missing.
- The case has triggered concern about safety in hotels and for individuals meeting through online platforms.
