Late PM Manmohan Singh Awarded PV Narasimha Rao Honour For Economic Reforms

Manmohan Singh honoured after his passing for his key role in transforming India’s economy.

The late former Prime Minister and renowned economist Dr. Manmohan Singh has been awarded the PV Narasimha Rao Memorial Award for Economics in recognition of his significant contributions to India’s economic transformation and nation-building.

The award was received on his behalf by his wife, Gursharan Kaur, during a ceremony held in the national capital last week, according to the Hyderabad-based PV Narasimha Rao Memorial Foundation (PVNMF).

The honour was presented by Montek Singh Ahluwalia, former deputy chairman of the erstwhile Planning Commission and a distinguished fellow at the Centre for Social and Economic Progress.

This award was established by the PVNMF to recognize outstanding contributions in the field of economics.

PVNMF President K Ramchandra Murthy and General Secretary Madhamchetty Anil Kumar were also present at the event.
