Manoj Bajpayee Gives Amitabh Bachchan’s Iconic ‘Deewar’ Dialogue a Bhojpuri Twist on KBC 17

The Family Man actor and Big B share a fun banter, recreating classic lines in Bhojpuri during Kaun Banega Crorepati

In a lighthearted moment on Kaun Banega Crorepati 17, actor Manoj Bajpayee surprised everyone by delivering one of Amitabh Bachchan’s most memorable lines from the film Deewar — but in Bhojpuri.

Appearing on the show along with his The Family Man 3 co-stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Sharib Hashmi, Bajpayee said:

“Ae Peter, te ohne khoje hamare ke, hum ae ne baithal bane” — loosely translated as, “Peter, you are looking for me there, I am sitting right here.”

Not to be outdone, Amitabh Bachchan responded with his own Bhojpuri spin on another classic — from Zanjeer:

“Ae dekha lalva, jha Khade ho vha tareke se khade raho, ae Police station hain jano, tohre baap ka ghar nahi hain” — “Hey kid, stand straight wherever you are. This is a police station, not your father’s house.”

The funny exchange is part of a promo shared by Sony TV, highlighting the friendly chemistry between Bajpayee and Bachchan.

In another moment during the same promo, Bajpayee revealed a behind-the-scenes anecdote:

“Amit ji ne ek baar mujhe maar diya tha. Mera heart attack hojata sirf Amit ji ke karan … Inhone meri jaan le li thi.”
He said he was left stunned and speechless — suggesting that Bachchan may have been playing a prank.

The playful exchange offered fans a refreshing glimpse of Manoj Bajpayee and Amitabh Bachchan’s off-screen camaraderie, making the upcoming episode of KBC 17 one of the most anticipated celebrity specials of the season.
