American journalist Megyn Kelly tearfully confirms Charlie Kirk’s death during live broadcast; calls him a future US president
Conservative political commentator Megyn Kelly broke down in tears during a live broadcast as she confirmed the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old right-wing activist and founder of Turning Point USA. Kirk was fatally shot during a public event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

Kelly announced the death during The Megyn Kelly Show while speaking with Blaze Media CEO Glenn Beck. Holding back tears, she said:
“They are reporting that Charlie has died, that he’s dead, at the age of 31.”
Glenn Beck, visibly shaken, covered his face and appeared to break down on air.
“There’s no way he survived that,” he said. “The only good thing is, it had to have happened quickly.”
Charlie Kirk Shot During Live Q&A Event
Kirk was speaking at a Q&A session at Utah Valley University when he was shot in the neck by a sniper stationed on a nearby rooftop. The incident occurred around 20 minutes into the event and was caught on video, which showed blood gushing from his neck as he collapsed.
He was immediately rushed to Timpanogos Regional Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries later that afternoon.

Speaking later to Sky News host Paul Murray, Kelly revealed the emotional impact Kirk’s death had on her family:
“My kids are very jarred by this.”
She went on to express her belief that Charlie Kirk had the potential to one day become President of the United States:
“When I’m close to 80, Charlie will be president—or he will have already served two terms as president. He was on that trajectory.”
Investigation Ongoing: Suspect Still At Large
Authorities initially detained a man in tactical gear, but he was released after questioning. The FBI is now treating the case as a political assassination, and the shooter remains at large.
