During the NDA legislative party meeting, all elected leaders unanimously supported Nitish Kumar as their chief ministerial candidate. This decision positions him for a record 10th term as Bihar’s Chief Minister.

Resignation to Governor, Claim to Form Government

Following the meeting, Nitish Kumar visited Governor Arif Mohammad Khan to:

  • submit his resignation from the outgoing government, and
  • present his claim to form the new government under the NDA coalition.

The Governor is expected to invite him to take oath as Chief Minister.

Oath Ceremony Scheduled Tomorrow

The swearing-in ceremony will take place tomorrow at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna.

The NDA has secured a decisive mandate in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, winning 202 out of 243 seats.
