Dwarka Expressway and Urban Extension Road-II to improve connectivity, reduce traffic, and boost Delhi-NCR mobility.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two major National Highway projects in Delhi on Sunday, aimed at decongesting roads and enhancing connectivity in the Delhi-NCR region.
The two projects, worth nearly Rs 11,000 crore, include the Delhi section of Dwarka Expressway and the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II). The PM will launch the projects at around 12:30 p.m. in Rohini and address a public gathering.
Project Details
1. Delhi Section of Dwarka Expressway
- Length: 10.1 km
- Cost: Rs 5,360 crore
- Route: Shiv Murti intersection to Dwarka Sector-21 (5.9 km) and Dwarka Sector-21 to Delhi-Haryana border (4.2 km)
- Connectivity:
- Multi-modal access to Yashobhoomi
- DMRC Blue Line and Orange Line
- Upcoming Bijwasan Railway Station
- Dwarka Cluster Bus Depot
PM Modi had previously inaugurated the Haryana section of Dwarka Expressway in March 2024.
2. Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) – Alipur to Dichaon Kalan Stretch
- Cost: Rs 5,580 crore
- Features:
- Links to Bahadurgarh and Sonipat
- Reduces congestion on Inner and Outer Ring Roads
- Improves traffic flow at busy points like Mukarba Chowk, Dhaula Kuan, and NH-09
- Enhances industrial and goods movement in the NCR
