🔒 One Month in Jail: Calm, Quiet, and Isolated

Sonam Raghuvanshi, the woman accused of murdering her husband Raja Raghuvanshi during their honeymoon in Meghalaya, has completed one month in Shillong jail. Sources say she has shown no regret for the crime and remains completely disconnected from her family, who haven’t visited or contacted her since her arrest.

Despite the gravity of the charges, Sonam has adapted to prison life. She follows the daily routine as per the jail manual and maintains discipline. Lodged near the jail warden’s office, she shares her space with two other undertrial women inmates.

There are 496 inmates in Shillong jail, including 20 women. Sonam is only the second female inmate currently held on a murder charge.

🔍 Family Silence: No Visits, No Calls

According to jail officials, Sonam has the right to meet or speak with family members under prison rules. However, her family has maintained complete silence—no visits, no phone calls, and no contact since her arrest.

Her brother earlier confirmed that the family has severed all ties with her and expressed support for Raja’s family in their fight for justice.
