While plot details remain under wraps, the movie will continue the journey fans have followed throughout the show’s run. Jenny Han, the original author of the book series and co-developer of the show, will pen the screenplay alongside Sarah Kucserka.
The exciting news was shared during the red carpet event for the season finale in Paris. Han expressed her gratitude to Amazon for supporting her vision and emphasized that only a movie could fully capture the final milestone in the main character Belly’s story.
The show has been a massive hit worldwide, with the first episode of Season 3 attracting 25 million viewers globally within its first week, according to Amazon. The series, praised for its heartfelt portrayal of love, family, and friendship, follows Belly’s coming-of-age tale and her complicated love triangle with two brothers.
Amazon MGM Studios executives Courtenay Valenti and Vernon Sanders highlighted the series’ success and expressed their excitement to bring fans this final cinematic chapter.
