A special POCSO court in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda has sentenced a couple to death for sexually assaulting 33 children over several years.
The court called the case “rarest of rare” due to the scale and brutality of the crimes.
What Happened
According to investigators:
- The accused targeted children between 2010 and 2020
- Some victims were as young as three years old
- The crimes took place across multiple locations
The court convicted them under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
Court Order
The special judge awarded the death penalty to both convicts.
The court also directed:
- ₹10 lakh compensation for each survivor
- Any money recovered from the accused to be distributed among victims
The judgment described the offences as extremely heinous and systematic.
Investigation Details
The case was registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation in 2020.
Investigators found:
- The accused lured children with gifts and online games
- Medical and forensic evidence supported the allegations
- Several victims suffered long-term physical and psychological trauma
Officials said further legal procedures will follow as per law.
