Ex-couple’s divorce continues to spark speculation as family denies high alimony rumors.
Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma officially announced their separation earlier this year after nearly five years of marriage. The couple tied the knot in December 2020 in Gurugram.
In March 2025, both issued a joint statement confirming their divorce, without revealing specific reasons.
Alimony Rumours: The ₹60 Crore Buzz
Soon after the news broke, rumours surfaced on social media and news platforms claiming that Dhanashree had demanded ₹60 crore as alimony.
However, her family quickly dismissed the reports as completely baseless.
“No such amount has ever been asked, demanded, or even offered,” said the family in an official statement.
They also urged the media to avoid spreading misinformation and to respect the couple’s privacy.
Lawyer’s Clarification
Dhanashree’s lawyer, Aditi Mohoni, also responded to the ongoing buzz, saying:
“The matter is sub judice. I request the media to verify facts before publishing misleading information.”
What’s the Real Alimony Amount?
Though unconfirmed by either party, reports later suggested that Chahal agreed to pay ₹4.75 crore as alimony. No official figure has been publicly disclosed by the couple.
How It All Started: The Love Story
- The two met during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020.
